This second album […] certainly does say something about Giovanna Gatto’s great pianistic gifts, because I really cannot imagine a better advocate for this music. Technically meticulous, highly imaginative, warm and singing, and with an excellent feel for melodic lines and the harmonic inventions Respighi was already able to come up with (without taking into account the typical sound characteristics of the piano and the way it is played).
